So you want to learn to how to dive? One day you wake up and think “I want to be a scuba diver” I want to learn to how to scuba dive. You’ll have to make sure that you are healthy enough to start with scuba diving. Therefore you will have to fill in a form where you answer about 20 questions about your health. Simple question we all can understand thy are being asked.
- Are you using medicine for Astma
- Have you ever had a trauma to the ears
- Did you ever had problems with your hart
Learn to Scuba Dive
Probably you will start with a discover scuba dive. Before you hit the water you will get about 20 minutes of basic need to know theory. You will be explained how the use your mask, ﬁns, BCD, regulator and the pressure gauge. For now that is all you need to know.
AN instructor or Dive master will take you into the water and will dive with you to a maximum depth of *18ft or 6 meters. *The time you’ll be underwater depends on the amount of air you use. Lets say you’ll be diving for about 30 minutes.
Congratulations! You have experienced how it feels to breath underwater. You have seen that there is a whole new world out there to discover.
If you want to dive without the supervision of an instructor you will have to take scuba lessons before you will be certified as an open water diver. The open water diver course will take about 3 days. In these 3 days you’ll learn:
- Create Neutral buoyancy
- To never ever hold your breath
- How to make an emergency ascent
- How to clear your mask if filled with water
- How to use your spare regulator (octopus)
- And so much more...
You will be in the classroom listening how your instructor explains the basic rules of diving. ** You will be **reading the different chapters of the book and will make the tests after each chapter. You will be in the swimming pool practising your skills. And finally you hit the open water to show off your new learned skills.
4 days further you are an open water diver. From this point on your life will change. You will make new friends. You will see things most people will never ever see. You are confident enough to go diving with a buddy and have the time of your life.
Most of us do not live in parts of the world where SCUBA diving can be done every weekend. That is why most people learn to dive when the are on vacation. There are some hotspots in the world that are perfect for taking scuba lessons.
